Kim Flashner -
Kim, a Chicago native and a member of the American Society for Interior Designers (ASID) has been an interior designer for over 15 years. She brings a broad knowledge of interior design and staging, as well as construction means and methods. Her experience ranges from modest homes, to big-scale overhaul projects. Kim Flashner's work has been featured in several national publications. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Boston University, and attended The Harrington Institute of Design in Chicago, Illinois.
Client goals and needs are held in the forefront with each and every client. Whether designing a single room or entire home, it is Kim's objective to work closely with the client to determine and create an environment that is a reflection of their needs. It is because of this dedication that her work has been showcased in professional trade magazines, charity showcase homes, as well as magnificent spec homes. Working with a team of designers, Kim has designed a number of spaces across the country.
I believe in open communication as a key to achieving desired results. I pride myself on meeting budget and scheduling requirements.
Agata Babiuk -
Agata has over a decade of experience in the interior design field, including her bachelor degree from the Illinois Institute of Art. Her experience includes designing spaces both in the Chicagoland area and in Europe. Within our team, she specializes in the staging and interior design of occupied, i.e. 'lived in' homes. Her experience as a professional organizer allows her to maximize the appeal of a home and let the client live there. For as long as she remembers, her passion has been designing interior spaces. Her belief is that the key to great design is developing outstanding relations with every client. This includes being detailed oriented, listening to their needs and concerns, and satisfying those needs with imaginative solutions.
Each 'lived in' home provides unique opportunities for the interior designer. From the initial consultation to the completed staging, the entire process provides intellectual and aesthetic growth for both the client and the designer.
It is a very rewarding feeling every time to transform of an interior space and then see the clients happy with the results.
Monika Carney -
Obtaining her Broker's License in 2002, Monika has been involved with real estate transactions in Chicago for over 9 years. She began her long real estate career working in the urban markets of the downtown neighborhoods of Chicago. As a representative of many home sellers, she began to assist with interior design needs and the staging of vacant homes. Quick to pick up on design and staging techniques that led to larger returns for her clients, she went on to work with a development company planning, enhancing & staging newly constructed homes.
It was at this point that she realized her passion for design and quickly enrolled in a degree program at Harper College. Monika was able to balance her role as a real estate Broker, student and interior designer / stager quite well. She finished the program for interior design at the Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg in 2006. She has been assisting clients in downtown Chicago and surrounding suburbs with interior design and staging needs since.
Monika is an expert in textile & paint pallet selection, kitchen & bathroom enhancement and home improvement. It is her work as an expert in real estate sales, coupled with development experience and interior design selections that make Monika such a valuable asset to any project. Her exquisite taste, space planning and problem solving skills can improve the aesthetic look and feel of any size home. She has the knowledge, experience and ability to envision what a prospective buyer will be looking for in each location and property type.
I am doing what I feel passionate about and enjoying every minute of it. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling career. This is an extremely rewarding field to work in, as I get to see the results of my efforts instantly, and there is nothing better than the look of excitement and delight on my client's face.
Lisa Edgerton -
Lisa is a new edition to our team and the Chicago area. Having graduated from Baker College with a degree in Interior Design, she joined the Phoenix Rising team as an Design Associate.
After completing many projects with Phoenix Rising, she has moved up to her current position as Interior Designer. Lisa's talents lend her to be a great designer for almost any project.
She brings over a decade of experience to our team. She is currently pursuing an advanced degree in Interior Design at Harrington College of Design.

Mark LaPlante -
Mark LaPlante is an interior designer that has been practicing design for 29 years. He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of design including: merchandising, home improvement, remodeling, and real estate.
He knows market trends and has experience with a variety of styles to give his clients wide options to fit their taste . He received his associates degree in interior design from Harrington College of Design. Mark was formerly the lead designer at Rooms Redux, another top home staging company in the Chicago area. Mark is now part of the Phoenix Rising team, working to transform properties into beautifully staged homes.
